Working closely and collaboratively with artists, animators, developers, and product owners, the Game Artist is responsible for creating and developing high quality content and game imagery based on specific game mechanics/story boards and briefs. Their work is directly linked to the signature look of our creations which guarantees their success. According to their expertise and know-how, the Game Artist contributes to all graphical aspects of projects and games, such as the following:

• The design of characters, poses, expressions and renderings (realistic or cartoon).
• Storyboards, layouts and settings.
• Environments, backgrounds, matte-paintings and textures.
• The creation of interfaces, symbols, logos and menus.
• Promotional products.

The Game Artist must be versatile to create visual concepts in a range of styles.  Their Artistic sensibilities and understanding of the target market will be leveraged constantly to quickly fine tune work for the project at hand.

The Game Artist delivers the highest standards game art while following intellectual property and copyright guidelines, meeting the production deadlines and demonstrating a sense of responsibility by ensuring the quality and visual consistency of their work.

The Game Artist must have the creative skills to produce drawings, sketches, and concepts quickly and efficiently and be fully conversant with the current tools of the trade such as the Adobe CC suite. The successful candidate will be able to design rich and spectacular digital paintings and computer graphics as well as an in-depth knowledge of human and animal anatomy, a keen sense of observation, of colour and composition, curiosity, passion for the trade and the desire to meet challenges.

Required Skills

• Adobe Photoshop CC – current version (Adobe Illustrator proficiency would be an advantage)
• Ability to visually express concepts and ideas through drawings and sketches.
• Knowledge of the technology used in games and multimedia, of its possibilities and its limits, and of 2D and 3D design tools.
• Ability to optimize assets to accommodate its distribution.
• Capable of quickly learning how to use new software and of maintaining current knowledge.
• Knowledge of production steps and understanding of creation processes.
• Use of common communication tools, MS Office, Slack, Bluejeans, Teams.

Also considered an asset

• Comfortable with 3ds Max, or other 3D tools.
• Experience with Game Engines such as Unity or Unreal
• Professional experience in Casino Gaming

Qualifications

• A degree in art or in a related field would be nice, but it's not necessary.
• Some experience as an Artist, and a supporting portfolio in the online gaming, video game or multimedia industry.
