Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on JavaScript Software Engineer to support a large enterprise application-modernization initiative. The work centers on migrating more than 2,000 applications to newer JavaScript versions, helping transition package management from npm to pnpm, resolving migration issues, and collaborating with application teams to make modernization repeatable and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support modernization of a large JavaScript application ecosystem.
- Assist with migrations to newer JavaScript versions.
- Help migrate applications from npm to pnpm.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application-migration and dependency issues.
- Collaborate with multiple application teams to support and facilitate migrations.
- Identify opportunities to improve migration consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript.
- Experience migrating applications to newer JavaScript versions.
- Experience using pnpm.
- Deep understanding of the JavaScript open-source ecosystem.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving application-migration issues.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours that overlap with a US-based team.
- Enterprise experience strongly preferred.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with large-scale application modernization or migration projects.
- Experience automating application migrations.
- Familiarity with AI tools.
- Familiarity with build optimization and dependency management.
- Experience working with enterprise JavaScript applications at scale.

Location, Time & Engagement
- Candidates must be based in LATAM.
- US Central Time overlap and flexible working hours are required.
- This is a full-time contract engagement at 40 hours per week.
- The anticipated engagement runs through March 31, 2027.
- This is not currently a contract-to-hire opportunity.
