   Responsible for managing the procurement operations for the organization as well as manage vendor relationships and supplier interactions for best outcomes.

Job Description

 Functions:

  • Develop and implement the procurement strategy
  • Provide direction and expertise on all procurement activities
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Establish and maintain vendor databases
  • Provide preliminary risk assessment related to procurement activities and develop mitigating strategies

Manage procurement resources and direct procurement activities required to support operations, project planning and execution

  • Ensure full compliance with procurement procedures in the organization
  • Negotiate best prices for supplies and service contracts ensuring competitiveness
  • Conduct due diligence on vendor products, viability and company strength

Forecast company needs and requirements by keeping abreast of market and product trends and development

  • Order materials and services as negotiated and appropriately approved
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions

Qualifications

 Requirements:


  • Minimum of a 1st degree required; relevant Masters degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a procurement/supply function
  • Strong commercial skills with demonstrated competency in the establishment and negotiation of sound contract terms and conditions, and the ability to understand product design, components and materials
