Job Description

The Boston office of of a top law firm is seeking an associate to join its national and regional Health Care Practice Group - recently named the national “Law Firm of the Year — Health Care Law” on the U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms" (2012-2013 & 2011-2012). The Health Care Practice Group represents health systems, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, senior living facilities, long term care facilities, physician groups, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, health information technology companies, life sciences companies , other health care entities, as well as venture and private equity investors focused on health care and life sciences. The office's health care practice is busy and growing, with 11 full-time health lawyers and support from a full-service office including corporate, litigation, IP, tax and other essential services. The candidate, however, will work with lawyers and clients across the firm. 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 6 years of health law experience with particular strength in transactional work, regulatory due diligence, and contracting. The candidate must have knowledge of the general federal and state health care regulatory schemes and preferably also would have significant experience with Illinois health law issues, including knowledge of the Stark law, the Anti-Kickback statute, HIPAA/HITECH Act, Medicare conditions of participation, licensing, and reimbursement. The candidate should have excellent academic credentials, writing and communication skills.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from a top tier, ABA-approved law school and must be an active member in good standing of the bar of the state in which the candidate is admitted to practice.
