Job Description

Lesaffre’s Digital & Data journey started some years’ ago with a strong push to encourage and cross-fertilize initiatives across the organization. Business impact of some of these first actions (Sales efficiency tools, My Lesaffre App for Bakers, digitalization of key operations etc…) have confirmed the importance of accelerating this journey.

Digital & Data are to become a fundamental transformative force for Lesaffre growth. On one hand, as a lever to increase customer centricity and user experience. On the other, to bring operational excellence across the company.

More concretely, some of these opportunities are: 

  • Further empower salesforce & leverage digital marketing to capture, convert and keep our future and current clients and consumers  
  • Leverage omnichannel strategies to sell, serve and delight our customers
  • Turn our industrial operations even more intelligent and efficient (digitalization of processes, automatization of low added value tasks, industrial productivity, supply chain performance …)
  • Contribute to unlocking further value and efficiency on R&D processes
  • Empowering transversal functions to deliver better user experiences

To accelerate this journey, a substantial additional effort is being put in place. The recent arrival of a Chief Digital & Data Officer (ExCom member) has marked the beginning of this acceleration. With a more structured and results oriented journey, CD&D officer is creating a new organisation. Data and Tech is at the heart of the transformation. A Data and Tech Factory has been created to valorise Lesaffre’s data assets, and deliver use cases, advanced analyses, governance capacities, and innovation. Both embedded in the Business and at a Global level, digital & data talents will be crucial to this transformative journey in the impact to business as well as the development of D&D capabilities.

In this context, Lesaffre is recruiting a Lead UX/UI

Job position: 

This position, reporting to Data strategy, Data factory and Tech Director, will play a fundamental role in the newly launched acceleration journey. The purpose of the position is to provide guidance, expertise, and leadership in UX and UI. It aims at defining and executing the overall user experience vision and strategy, ensuring a consistent and seamless experience across various Data, tech, and digital products of Lesaffre. The Lead UX/UI will collaborate with other Digital and Data experts, D&D directors and cross-functional stakeholders to make sure that UX is taken in consideration at every step of a product life cycle. She/he will embrace a global user-centric vision aiming at an integrated user experience overarching single product. She/will ensure directly or indirectly that for all product user requirements are gathered, graphic elements designed, and navigation components coherently build.

She/he will have the following responsibilities:  

  • Defining the and strategy for user experience design and user interface design
    • Aligned with business objectives and goals
    • Aligned with Digital&Data vision
    • Coherent with Lesaffre’s DNA
    • that defines the design principles, guidelines, and best practices to guide the development of user-centered products and services.
  • User research and insights:
    •  Conducting user research to gain a deep understanding of user needs, pain points and behaviours internationally.
    • Utilize research findings to create personas, inform design decisions and validate design solutions
  • UX/UI design and prototyping:
    • Providing expertise in UX and UI
    • Create of wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs to communicate and test design concepts.
    • develop user-friendly interface designs that meet the needs of use
    • Find creative ways to solve UX problems in all applications such as usability and findability
  • Usability testing and evaluation:
    • She/he will create or oversee the creation of test plans and scenarios and conduct usability testing on Lesaffre's digital&data products
    • Analyze feedback and metrics to drive continuous improvement in the user experience
  • Operational Coordination with stakeholders:
    • Collaborating with product development/feature teams to operationally deliver UX and UI designs
    • Collaborate with Data&Tech factory leaders, in particular the Head of Product to operationally organize the UX/UI work for data/tech/digital product development.
    • Support the D&D transformation directors for integrating UX thinking in digital initiatives.
    • Work closely with Xperience team to make sure that UX is included in change, communication, and training program.
    • Communicate design decisions, design changes and requirements through presentations and other documentation where required.
  • Work toward a global and integrated user experience:
    • With time, invent the global Lesaffre’s customer and collaborator digital user experience
    • Ensure the coherence and homogeneity of UX and UI across the different digital products
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
  • Build a minimal high performing team:
    • Design, Build and lead a small team adapted to D&D ambitions.
    • Construct and manage a network of external service providers helping to reach UX/UI goals

Qualifications

There is no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate. Lesaffre is a place where you can grow and in which whatever background you come with will be a plus. If you feel excited about the position, we strongly encourage you to apply even if you meet only two third the requirements.

  • Al least one previous experience in the role of UX/UI Senior or UX/UI lead
  • 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design and UX/UI research
  • At ease with Service Design and Customer Journeys
  • Experienced in developing UX strategies across multiple product portfolios
  • Can assume strategic thinking with sill being hands-on
  • deep understanding of usability principles, user-centric design and human-computer interaction.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of design softwares
  • Know how to leverage data and analytics to enhance user experience
  • Strong adherence with Agile methodology, MVP approach, Design Sprint …
  • Know how to build and conduct design workshops
  • Ability to convince, influence and challenge in a positive way
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and transversal manner
  • Good team player at ease in a multi-cultural and expertise team
  • Fluent English, French a plus.
