Microbiology Technician -R&D (H/F)

The main objective of the job is to participate in the R&D projects supporting the development of bacterial based offering in the field health and nutrition (probiotics) as well as bakery (sourdoughs).
You will be working in Lesaffre’s Bacteria Platform dedicated to developing bacteria based benefits. Your responsibilities include the completion and reporting of R&D subprojects and the implementation of analytical methods in the field of bacteria. You will also be involved in the management of sample and strain collections as well as the general functioning of the laboratory.
A minimum of a two-year technical degree in microbiology with at least 4 years of experience is required.

You can demonstrate the ability to drive your own project.
You are familiar with both molecular as well as classical microbiological techniques.
You know how to culture (strict) anaerobes.
You have experience in handling pathogens.
Experience with intestinal bacteria, spore forming bacteria as well as flowcytometry or bioinformatics are considered a plus.
If needed you are willing to get the vaccinations necessary for working with human faecal samples.
Language skills: You are proficient in English and/or French and willing to develop either to fit the requirements. In French, you have the ability to read and interpret documents. In English, you have the ability to read/write and interpret documents.
