About The Role

We’re looking for a Credit Risk & Compliance Specialist who’s excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll help shape the credit risk and compliance foundations for Lendi Group’s home lending businesses — designing the policies, controls, decisioning frameworks and governance processes that support a scalable lending model.

You’ll work closely with teams across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Legal and Customer to turn big-picture strategy into practical processes, tools and documentation. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, bringing structure to ambiguity, and balancing strong credit judgement with commercial thinking.

This is an 8-month contract role, with the potential to become permanent once the design and build phase is complete, depending on how the project progresses and ongoing business needs.

Job Description

  • Build credit policy and governance foundations: Create, review and maintain credit policies, procedures, decisioning rules and program documentation to support compliant and commercially sound lending operations.
  • Design practical lending frameworks: Help establish the operating model for credit risk governance, including approvals, escalation paths, ownership, controls and exception frameworks.
  • Support credit decisioning and portfolio oversight: Define and document decisioning requirements, policy rules, risk indicators, portfolio reporting, stress testing outputs and management dashboards.
  • Embed risk appetite into lending processes: Support the application of the Risk Appetite Statement across credit decisioning and portfolio oversight, providing input into potential updates or refinements.
  • Partner across the business: Work closely with Product, Operations, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Legal and Customer teams to ensure credit policy, workflow design and decisioning processes are practical, consistent and scalable.
  • Design and document credit controls: Support the design of controls across valuation, LVR, collateral, security requirements, responsible lending, AML/CTF, arrears, hardship, complaints and other key lending processes.
  • Support product and pricing changes: Assess credit risk impacts, control requirements and implementation considerations for new or changing products, pricing models and lending processes.
  • Prepare high-quality documentation and recommendations: Develop committee papers, implementation artefacts, policy documents, process maps and governance materials for relevant stakeholders and forums.

Qualifications

  • What You’ll Bring:
    • Experience in residential lending, credit risk, credit policy, portfolio risk or lending operations.
    • Strong understanding of home loan credit assessment, risk-based decisioning and policy governance.
    • Experience working in a regulated lending environment, with familiarity across responsible lending obligations.
    • Ability to create, review and document policies, procedures, decisioning rules, controls and governance frameworks.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into practical actions.
    • Confidence partnering across business, risk, legal, product, technology and operational stakeholders.
    • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear papers, recommendations and implementation documentation.
    • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to build frameworks, processes and controls in a fast-moving environment.
  • Nice to Haves:
    • Experience in an ACL, non-bank lender, aggregator, bank, mortgage manager or specialist lending environment.
    • Exposure to credit policy frameworks, credit scorecards, lending exceptions, model governance or credit committees.
    • Understanding of Design and Distribution Obligations, compliance frameworks and control assurance processes.
    • Experience supporting product changes, portfolio strategy, pricing decisions or risk appetite settings.
    • Exposure to stress testing, portfolio monitoring, arrears, hardship, early warning indicators or customer outcome initiatives.
