What’s the role?

The Risk Partner (Projects) will form part of the centralised Risk, Compliance and Legal team (CRL). The Risk Partner (Projects) will play a proactive role in supporting the Lendi Group business to effectively manage the risk and control environment and enhance risk culture.

As Risk Partner (Projects), you will provide hands on support with change risk assessments, risk profiling and assessment and control design and testing. You will also be involved in reporting and incident and issue management. As a key partner to the frontline business, you will use and help drive smart risk management practices to build Lendi’s risk maturity. 

Job Description

  • Perform risk assessments of new initiatives and projects. 
  • Proactively engage, assist, coach the business, as line 1, in risk, compliance, and controls. 
  • Identify and assess risks associated with business operations, products, and processes, and support the business to develop and implement strategies to effectively mitigate these risks. 
  • Provide generalist risk and compliance advice to support day to day decision making. 
  • Assist in developing processes and controls to manage risks and issues. 
  • Monitor effectiveness of the controls and provide guidance and assistance on uplift and improvements that could be made (for example identify opportunities to automate controls). 
  • Assist with incident and breach management and systemic issue identification including providing support on root cause analysis and development of appropriate treatment plans.  
  • Lead and support, in collaboration with the business stakeholders, maintenance of risk profiles and the embedding of risk frameworks. 
  • Maintain Lighthouse risk management system. 
  • Provide ongoing education and awareness to ensure the business complies with its risk controls, policies and procedures and to contribute to the ongoing improvement of Lendi’s risk maturity. 

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in risk management within consumer lending, credit assistance , retail financial services. Ideally exposure and experience to risk and compliance within a digital environment.
  • Experience in control design, development and testing. 
  • Demonstrated experience in providing risk in change and risk and compliance support to projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels. 
  • Familiarity with broker distribution (desired).
  • Demonstrated understanding of various regulatory obligations including National Credit Act, Privacy Act.
