Job Description

You will work as part of an established team recognized for its leadership and will actively contribute to the energy transition and decarbonization of the built environment. As an Intermediate Controls Designer, you will play a key role in the success of our clients.

What You’ll Accomplish With Us

  • Design HVAC control systems for various building types, including hotels, retirement residences, condominium towers, commercial, and institutional buildings.
  • Gather and analyze technical drawings for equipment requiring controls.
  • Develop control layout drawings, control details, and point lists.
  • Analyze project documentation to develop optimal control strategies.
  • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings with project partners.
  • Perform economic analyses to ensure the profitability and efficiency of control system architectures.
  • Incorporate field modifications and prepare as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment that values accuracy, rigor, and quality.
  • Document interventions and adhere to established procedures.
  • Continuously improve design standards, work methods, and tools to support operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation and Control, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) such as Strato, Reliable, Alerton, Trane, Johnson Controls, Distech, or equivalent (required).
  • Knowledge of BACnet and Modbus communication protocols (required).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical building systems.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and versatile.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
