Company Description

Creating Space to Grow.

Lemay is at the forefront of inclusive design, with thought-leading projects across the country. We have transformed the centres of cities, reframing our histories while providing radically new ways to use and share public space. This has been in delicate, nuanced work, but also in some of the largest, most important, and critically recognized cultural projects and public spaces in Canada and internationally.

We are a firm that designs generous spaces that create meaningful impact. Lemay is a national, award-winning firm with a strong team of 450 designers, industry leaders, and change-makers who want to see change in their own backyards, and across communities at home and abroad.

We are constantly working together to imagine new ways to design and build healthy spaces that will engage users and bring people together. We seek to create solutions for individuals and communities, while addressing the fundamental challenges our world faces.

We practice what we preach. The process, the ideas, and the goals we bring to the table are all things we have applied to our own spaces. We believe buildings should give more than they take, and of doing more with less.

What sets us apart.

We believe in applying design as a catalyst for change and are constantly working with communities to recalibrate the way our cities tell our stories. True to our Montreal roots, we promote diversity and openness across our six offices and within our partnerships. We are passionate creators, unafraid of pushing the boundaries of architecture and design. It is by embracing the constraints that push us to innovate that we create meaningful, sustainable spaces that are focused on users. Ours is a venture of constant exchange, where the best idea always emerges. We push the limits of design and drive change through creativity, in the name of a brighter future.

Does this sound like the place for you?

This change-maker role.

We are looking for a passionate, positive talent to become a Marketing & Business Development, Specialist and help us connect with current and potential clients/partners, by telling our unique Lemay story.

Your role is integral here at Lemay and is a crucial as the first step in creating new client relationships, nurturing existing ones and developing business, for each studio. Your natural drive to succeed in these aspects, your understanding of their importance, will further develop Lemay’s vision, teams, and future growth.  The Business Development process is a critical part for any business: we want to be successful in offers, pitches, interviews, and related business pursuits. Essentially, we’re looking for the next star for our Business Development team. Using a high level of your EQ, we are asking you: take on challenges, be accountable and take ownership for your work from start to finish, be a change-maker and strategic thinker, be proud of who you work with and what you are accomplishing, as well as communicate, practice patience, be flexible (at times), use your intuition and make things happen! You will forecast, research, strategize, organize, and execute Lemay’s business development strategies for international and regional markets and will always be at the forefront, representing the team.

So, does this still sound like the role for you?

You’ll help shape the future by leading and supporting these integral things.

  • Lead, participate and facilitate in strategic business development planning and activities.
  • Lead and support regional ‘task force’ business development meetings, in private or public sector markets, in collaboration with Lemay senior leadership.
  • Lead and develop specific corporate business development and marketing projects that may enhance, develop and/or initiate a better way of doing what we set out to accomplish – internally and externally.
  • Showcase your strategic mindset through regional market plans, bid responses and relevant marketing packages.

  • Develop and execute (as the primary point of contact) the collection and analysis of business-related information, scheduling, writing, editing, formatting, graphics, design, and layout (using Lemay’s brand standards and ready-to-use templates) of proposals and marketing related documents/packages.
  • Ensure outputs are high-quality, well assembled, content-rich, and ready to be sent out, on time and on target.
  • Lead the coordination of internal and external team members by implementing internal deadlines to complete proposal-specific forms, custom resume alterations, additional information from subcontractors, graphic changes, narrative revisions etc. to make proposed bid vision and scheduling successful.
  • Keep a strong pulse on potential opportunities with private sector clients or public sector (RFP/RFQ/RFI) platforms.
  • Contribute to the generation, collection, dissemination, and storage of offer-related information.
  • Review and analyze in-bound bids or marketing package requests to help coordinate and curate responses.
  • Create and develop non-technical writing for offer efforts and lead editorial revisions, including copy writing and editing – ensuring submission outputs look and sound like one cohesive package.
  • Coordinate final close-out processes, file management and initiate client follow-ups.
