Functieomschrijving
This is an exciting time to join our company. We are growing fast, launching new products, and scaling our technology landscape to support ambitious future growth.
We are looking for a Product Owner who can bridge engineering complexity and business value. Someone who can translate deep technical challenges into clear priorities, compelling roadmaps, and meaningful outcomes for both our customers and internal stakeholders.
As Product Owner for our Edge Platform team, you will own the roadmap for the operating system, core software components and fleet management software that power a newly launched hardware product, the Lely Hub. You will balance business value, operational excellence, security, and long-term platform scalability.
You will work closely with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure the platform remains reliable, scalable, and ready for future innovation. As the platform scales across our installed base, you will play a key role in building and operating a fleet of tens of thousands of managed edge devices, helping establish Lely as a global leader in edge computing for agriculture.
This is not a role for someone who simply manages a backlog. We are looking for someone who can create direction, drive alignment across stakeholders, and help the team navigate complex technical and business challenges.

- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Edge Platform.
- Drive alignment between technical and business objectives across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Translate stakeholder needs and technical challenges into clear requirements and actionable priorities
- Build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, operational needs, technical sustainability, risk management, and customer impact
- Work closely with engineering team(s) to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure platform capabilities
What makes you successful
- You create clarity, focus, and momentum for the team
- You are skilled at building relationships and creating alignment across teams with different priorities and perspectives
- You can challenge stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships
- You confidently prioritize and make decisions, even when not all information is available
- You thrive in environments where products, platforms and teams are evolving and maturing
- You are comfortable discussing technical details with engineers and translating them into business value
Functie-eisen
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership, preferably in a software, platform, embedded systems, or technology-driven environment
- Strong Agile/Scrum experience
- Affinity with software development and technical platforms
- Experience with edge computing, operating systems, device platforms, or IoT solutions is highly desirable
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, as English is the primary language within the team; Dutch is a plus
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive, pragmatic, and results-oriented mindset
