    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to support the kick off of key Defence projects. In this role, you will manage the delivery of complex projects while ensuring all requirements are met. Additionally, you will support the bidding process and must have detailed experience in Defence Tactical Communications and the requirements management and implementation of C-UAS systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Project Delivery: Responsible to the Project Board for managing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring successful outcomes in line with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
    • Program Development and Monitoring: Develop, monitor, and adjust the project’s programs of work. Ensure progress is in line with plans and address any issues that arise to drive continuous improvement.
    • Project Control & Risk Management: Oversee the implementation of corporate project delivery frameworks, including project control, change control, risk management, and schedule management. Lead group planning sessions to manage contingencies and ensure the team is aligned on priorities and key milestones.
    • Bid Support and Proposal Preparation: Play a key role in supporting the bidding process, including the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements, and technical specifications. Assist in the development of proposal documents and provide technical insights on Defence Tactical Communications and C-UAS systems.
    • Stakeholder & Communication Management: Implement a Communication and Stakeholder Management plan to report regularly to senior stakeholders on project status, cost, schedule, and risk. Engage early with stakeholders to secure support when needed.
    • Financial and Resource Management: Assist the Project Director in preparing operating budgets and financial terms. Lead resource demand management processes to ensure the team has the right capacity to meet short-term and long-term project needs.
    • Customer Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for program delivery with the customer. Present project review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance, maintaining strong and proactive communication.

    Qualifications

    About you and What You’ll Bring

    • Project management experience in delivering outcomes in complex, multi-vendor environments.
    • Previous proposal development and/or systems engineering practice experience would also be advantageous.
    • Expertise in Defence Tactical Communications and the ability to manage technical aspects related to these systems including the management and implementation of C-UAS systems.
    • Demonstrated experience building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and juggling the complexity of managing the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrates a leadership style that is consultative and attuned to the needs and expectations of the customer.
    • Able to manage a high level of stakeholder complexity and had the end user in mind.
    • Formal qualification in Project Management (Agile, PMP, Prince2 Practitioner) and/or Professional membership would be desirable.

    Due to the nature of the work, this role will require applicants to be Australian Citizens with a current NV-1 clearance.
