Leidos delivers critical capability in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence (CBRND). We supply protection technology and training to the Australian Defence Force.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.

Job Description

We seek an experienced Trainer to deliver and coordinate the robust training package to develop ab initio trainees.

This team operates from the Kapooka Army Base (Wagga Wagga NSW). Trainers will occasionally travel to support events delivered by our Sydney-based CBRND Training Team.

Under the support and direction of the Training Lead, our Trainers:

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of LAND 2110 group-based training.
  • Assist in reviewing, developing and producing the approved Learning Management Package (LMPs) and associated course products when required.
  • Maintain the physical baselines for training artefacts in support of the current courses.
  • Assist in developing user Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for new software and hardware, lesson plans, hand-outs, reference sheets and functional, hands-on training exercises.
  • Carry out inspections and operator-level repairs on current CBRND equipment.
  • Provide recommendations and improvements to delivery methods and techniques.
  • Comply with relevant approved alcohol and drug testing policy for Safety Critical Area operations.

Qualifications

You will demonstrate a proactive approach with the ability to understand our mission. You will identify issues and foster strong relationships with our customers.

You will demonstrate experience in:

  • Training development and delivery
  • Performance management and trainee mentorship
  • Planning and executing individual specialist and small group collective training competencies

Highly desirable:

  • Training and Assessment Qualification (Cert IV or above)
  • Previous roles within Military or First Responder organisations
