Job Description

In this role you will take strategic responsibility of Solution Architecture for a globally recognised ICT supplier to major Federal Government clients. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will work across accounts to build on pre-existing capabilities and develop roadmaps inline with our clients strategic vision. Central to this will be the execution strategy for the sustainment and ongoing development of underlying systems.
You will review our existing catalogue of services and work with our core vendors, as well as key stakeholders within Departments, to ensure Leidos provides current / best of breed capabilities. As part of this function, you will be expected to deliver Leidos funded Research & Development projects; collaborating across our international organisation.
Key functions of the role include:
- Work as a solution architect and contribute to the architecture input into ROMs, proposals, BOEs, software, infrastructure-related inquiries and capacity estimations for new projects;
- Provide technical expertise to stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, security personnel and customer representatives. To ensure successful delivery of the solution(s) to the customer.
- Undertake architecture design, development and deployment, of cost-effective and sustainable capabilities for our customers;
- Engage with the customer on matters relating to future capabilities and prospective projects;
- Work as a member of a cross-functional team, including embedding in operations and engineering teams where complex technical expertise is requested;
- Facilitate technical and commercial discussions on proposed solutions along with current / future capabilities, with senior stakeholders within both Leidos and our clients.
Qualifications
In addition to, a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or significant successful experience delivering and supporting systems architecture and engineering at an Enterprise scale (5,000+ seats), you will demonstrate the following;
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong Enterprise scale IT experience in Architecture, Enginering & Operations.
- Comprehensive experience with at least two of the following vendors / offerings:
- VMWare - VCF & VRA;
- Cisco - Datacentre Networking;
- Dell, Hitachi and/or IBM - Compute & Storage Systems;
- RedHat, Ansible & OpenShift;
- Elastic, Prometheus & Grafana;
- Veritas NetBackup;
- IBM Tovoli.
- Architecture Framework certification (TOGAF, DODAF, etc.)
- Security frameworks (ISM, PSPF, E8, NIST, etc.)
SKILLS
- Ability to write high quality architectural and design documentation;
- Demonstrated ability undertaking product evaluations, including technical and financial modelling;
- Excellent stakeholder management- a proven ability to develop relationships;
- Ability to shift to a cross-functional role in operations or engineering if required as part of the cross-functional team;
- Ability to navigate, learn, influence and quickly adapt to new requirements and problem sets.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and ideally hold an NV1 or NV2 security clearance, or ability to obtain.
