Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Support Officer, ideally with a demonstrated ability supporting delivery of complex projects, to join our team and assist enabling a key intelligence customer.

This is a great role for a self-starter, who is organised, proactive and flexible to join a friendly team. You'll gain exposure to a team of subject matter experts and provide leadership and support with a variety of tasks. No two days are the same, this is a busy role but with a lot of opportunity to lead and develop.

Some of your key tasks will include:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to project teams, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of activities.
  • An ability to develop and maintain a service-oriented culture that provides high quality, reliable and timely support to the team.
  • Experience with designing and producing project presentations and reports.
  • Assist in the development and execution of effective communication within the project team and with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs and project plans, supporting the successful implementation of project initiatives.
  • An ability to assist in the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, guidelines, and other resources that deliver business outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

This role would be highly suited to those with an interest in a career pathway towards Project or Business Management.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

You are an expert communicator with the ability to think strategically and act tactically. You are capable of building and maintaining business relationships and partnerships through collaboration and consultation.

You will lead and influence others through the provision of advice, recommendations and proposals, and you will meet challenges with tack and diplomacy. This will be supported by your sound judgement, high-level problem solving and issue management skills. In addition, you will have a passion for driving performance improvements and will use your expertise and leadership skills to influence staff within the team and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

You have strong organisation skills, ability to establish rapport with stakeholders and ability to work to timelines. You are a self-starter with experience supporting geospatial capability projects and/or sustainment missions.

Skills

  • Proven experience in project management or a similar role.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in creating infographics and other visual aids.
  • Experience in change management practices and principles.
  • Experience in developing project plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or project management software.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen, hold a PV level Australian security clearance, and the successful completion an Organisational Suitability Assessment.
