Job Description

We are searching for a skilled Head of Safety, Quality and Security who masters fostering relationships inside and outside businesses and has proven experience influencing complex stakeholder environments.

Reporting to the VP of the Airborne Solutions Business Line within Leidos Australia, you will operate in a high-paced environment leading and managing the Aviation Safety, Quality and Security across Airborne.

You will be responsible for developing and executing the Aviation Safety, Quality & Security strategy to support a safe, efficient and compliant operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Aviation Safety, Quality & Security department, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices. 

  • Driving initiatives to target zero harm, enhance safety and quality compliance, and strengthen security measures in support of our specialized airborne missions. 

  • Collaborating with senior leaders in Leidos Australia and the US on aviation safety, quality, and security matters. 

  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Health & Safety, Quality, and Facilities & Security, to support corporate objectives. 

Qualifications

  • Extensive management experience in Aviation or similar industries, with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Security. 
  • Thorough knowledge of safety, quality, and security legislation and regulations. 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing safety programs aligned with regulatory standards and industry best practices. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in audits, compliance, risk management, and corrective action. 
  • Experience in people leadership and team development. 
  • Strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Tertiary qualifications within a Business Management, Aviation, or Engineering discipline. 
  • Relevant certifications or advanced degrees in Aviation, Safety, Quality, or Security. 
  • Experience working with government agencies or regulatory bodies. 

Non-Negotiables: 

  • Australian Citizenship. 
  • Eligible to maintain a relevant government security clearance.
