Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our high performing team supporting the software development of key legislation drafting programs of work.  Working with our leading software development teams, your role will design, develop and execute automated tests for the software, ensuring project schedules and milestones are adhered to. You will also be involved in manual validation and verification testing from time to time to ensure a co-ordinated approach between manual and automated testing.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Development of software automated test plans and strategies
• Design, maintain and enhance a variety of specialised automated test procedures
• Analysis and presentation of automated test results and coverage
• Co-ordinating contributions to automated tests from the wider development team
• Provide traceability between development requirements and test cases
• Executing test procedures
• Creating and managing test defects with development teams
• Development of test reports.

Qualifications

  • Software Engineering Degree or similar

 

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of the full lifecycle of automating manual test cases.
  • Programming skills in a test automation framework (e.g. Cypress, Selenium).
  • Experience testing large, distributed software systems.
  • Good knowledge of JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence, Jenkins etc.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines and evolving requirements.
  • Previous Automated Software testing experience is essential.
  • Previous experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment.
  • Ability to work closely within a team and independently when required.
  • K6 load testing experience highly preferable but not essential.
  • Most of our projects use a combination of Java and React. Experience in both is preferable.
