Your New Role

Leidos Australia is experiencing rapid growth and is currently seeking a Software Developer for a key federal government project.

An excellent opportunity for full stack developers with hands on experience with SharePoint who are looking to continue developing their career in the defence environment.

This project is in an established phase so there will be exposure to existing as well as new projects, where you will have access to new tools and technology. You will be supported by a large project team and a direct team of 5-6 where you will be encouraged to upskill and broaden your experience in key areas of interest in order to develop your career.

Working within an existing team, we require a Software Developer with exceptional analytical skills coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude.

We are seeking suitable skilled a Software Developer with a passion for the following:

  • previous expereince in working with SharePoint
  • Cloud computing, Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • complex problem solving
  • learning new things, and not discouraged by failure
  • experience in any or all of the following:
      • Java, C# (.Net), JavaScript Frameworks such React, Angular, Vue etc.
  • automated test frameworks
  • Working with minimal supervision, and ability to prioritise your own tasking

Qualifications

This role will see you working closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and then develop solutions or support existing solutions to meet business needs on business critical and highly visible projects.

About you and what you’ll bring

The successful candidate requires excellent communication skills with a focus on collaboration, end-to end implementation and on-going development and maintenance of business solutions of the Project's SharePoint platform Essential to your success will be knowledge of:

  • building & deploying SP2013/16/19 farm
  • Microsoft stack knowledge (AD, .Net, SQL)

You will be involved in and drive some of the below:

  • Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance & security requirements and existing systems. Delivers technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers.
  • Translates logical designs into physical designs, and produces detailed design documentation. Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Install and configure SharePoint infrastructure.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Plan and design improvements to SharePoint performance
  • Assist with evaluating new SharePoint technologies and recommend best-practice solutions
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be willing to obtain and hold a NV-2 or greater security clearance.
