Your New Role

Working on a Defence Health Knowledge Management System, the Business Analyst will be responsible for customer engagement, process modelling and development of system requirements, as well as the elicitation of business and technical requirements and the modelling of new and existing business processes to inform ICT project delivery for a fast paced, dynamic business unit.

Tasks include:

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Solution Architect/Engineers in the scoping and estimating for new initiatives
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications in-line with proposed solutions
  • Document, analyse and revise current and proposed business processes
  • Document Functional and Non-functional Requirements
  • Facilitate relationships between vendors, business and Leidos Cross functional Agile Teams with the Product Owner
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to have the backlog analysed, value captured and correctly reflecting the developing solution
  • To be integrated and an activity member within your Leidos Cross functional Agile Team, conducting requirement workflow walk-throughs; participating in story creations activities and principal point of contact during the implementation of user stories. 
  • Continually helping to evolve the requirement lifecycle while ensuring traceability requirements are met
  • Investigate issues/errors/flaws in the current setup and identify ways to improve systems performance and efficiency by suggesting best practices in line with the organisations’ processes and system deployment standards
  • Complying with applicable standards, processes and governance
  • Use your understanding of the different stakeholders in healthcare to plan and facilitate workshops to further define functionality, service and system flows.
  • User Story development and participation in sprint planning and execution.
  • Participate in working sessions with the scrum team to provide clarity on user stories, prioritise user stories and refine acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also have:

  • Competency in one or more related areas (application, data, information, infrastructure etc.)
  • A track record of working on complex projects
  • Ability to consult directly with customers and offer strategic advice as well as consulting experience within agile environments
  • Ability to work under a high level of autonomy
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a consistently high level in isolation and as a team player.
  • Experience with Jira, and Confluence
  • Demonstrable experience in Agile Environments
  • Combination of technical AND functional business focus as part of your experience
  • Agile project management is desirable
  • Understanding of the healthcare operational environment and experience with clinical software applications/ information systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in process mapping/modelling in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of health information exchange and interoperability, for example, HL7/FHIR and clinical coding, is highly desirable. .

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV-1 level Australian security clearance.
