Your New Role

Position Purpose

Looking for a software engineer with skills and further aspirations around secure development and operation of software systems within a government environment requiring high levels of access control, monitoring and response.  The role will include a mixture of software and patch deployment, security monitoring and response, test automation, penetration testing, and software development. This role is available to candidates eligible to seek an Australian government clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Document and implement risk management policies and IT security systems including automation of testing and continuous deployment solutions to enhance system security
  • Engagement with customer and Leidos CISOs to ensure alignment with internal and external security constraints
  • Implement monitoring solutions to detect suspicious activity and system outages
  • Work with a software development team to develop and enhance web-based document creation and publishing solutions within high security and access control constraints

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be willing to obtain and hold a minimum NV-1 AGSVA security clearance. 

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

We are looking for an excellent communicator who is able to problem solve, investigate technical issues, and lean on their teammates for support. Other things include:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering degree
  • Minimum of 2 years professional IT experience
  • Experience in secure deployment, monitoring and risk management in a complex IT environment
  • Familiarity with Agile SCRUM and/or Kanban methodologies and tools to support development and support of complex IT systems
  • Experience in system administration and network administration on either Windows or Linux
  • Proficient in web technologies, XML or SGML, Java, SpringBoot, ReactJS desirable
