Job Description

Your New Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Engineering Lead to support the start-up of the first phase of a new multi-year program, which will expand the capacity of the large enterprise environment for the next step of the program. This role will report to the capability lead in a matrix organisation, which supports the delivery of a range of complex project and programs.

As this role is a leadership role, strong relationship building and the ability to influence key stakeholders is a must.

This role is responsible for managing the engineering team to:

  • Analyse detailed system requirements and ensure the requirements are captured in relevant solution design documentation
  • Ensure that the solution implementation is delivered maintaining the quality management framework and to the engineering standards set out in the Systems Engineering Management Plan
  • Oversee the solution implementation to ensure it is delivered to the requirements as agreed with the client.
  • Work with the testing team and test lead to ensure the quality of the testing meet the agreed test plan
  •  Ensure the installation, configuration, and documentation of the initial capability at Data Centre is achieved successful,
  • Aid in the coordination of the capability between Data Centres 
  • Management/ support the verification, testing and transition into service of the capability at the Target new Data Centre.
  • Work closely with the Chief Architect in delivering the solution for the project
  • Leading and managing works of other technical staff for the build of the enabling services and Data Centre facilities design,
  • Communicate with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance during build / fitout,
  • Supporting the project managers and chief architect to coordinate the various teams across the project (key focus of engineering team members)
  • Aiding in documentation reviews to ensure alignment with Capability design.
  • Implementing best practices to identify, support and recommend system functional specifications,
  • Management of the engineering team to ensure technical execution plans are in place before commencement of build activities
  • Liaising with cross functional teams to ensure appropriate understanding from both the project (and from other teams) as to the projects requirements

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering discipline or relevant professional experience and specialised training is highly desirable.

Has in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts, and their application across range of programs.

Understanding of requirements engineering and relevant processes

  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the below areas-
  • Large and complex enterprise environment
  • Data Centre Networking
  • Midrange systems/ Compute
  • Storage

Due to the nature of this work this role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to be able to obtain and hold an NV-1 security clearance.
