Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Solutions Architect to support the start-up of the first phase of a new multi-year program, which will expand the capacity of the large enterprise environment for the next step of the program. This role will report to the capability lead in a matrix organisation, which supports the delivery of a range of complex project and programs.

As this role is a leadership role. You must able to create instant rapport with the interview team and demonstrate that you understand how to build relationships and influence.

You will be designing, implementing, and supporting the accreditation of a new, large enterprise environment. Reporting to the Program Chief Architect for delivery, the main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Undertake architecture design, development, and deployment of cost-effective and sustainable capabilities for the customer,
  • Ability to lead architecture activities and conduct workshops and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Undertake all architecture design activities across multiple streams of the project’s delivery,
  • Engage with the customer on matters relating to technical architecture,
  • Assist with development and maintenance of current and future architecture patterns,
  • Support engineering services across the project lifecycle from concept, requirements, design, build, test verification and ongoing maintenance and support,
  • Support the integration of security requirements into all design elements,
  • Work effectively with the main stakeholders including project managers, enterprise architects and engineers through the project delivery phases to ensure successful delivery of the solution to the customer.
  • Working as a solution architect and contribute to the architecture input into ROMs, proposals, project change requests, BOEs, software, infrastructure-related inquiries, and capacity estimations for new projects.

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will have excellent proven experience in the design and implementation of medium and large complex infrastructure and software solutions.

You will need to bring excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills, negotiation and influencing skills to be successful within this role, and;

  • Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
  • Plan and design the structure of a technology solution.
  • Communicate system requirements to software development teams.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods.
  • Oversee assigned programs and provide guidance to team members.
  • Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
  • Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.

In addition, experience in the following technologies (or similar) desirable: 

  • Infrastructure: IAAS, PAAS, SaaS, Hybrid Cloud, SDDC
  • Virtualisation: VMWare Stack and Hyper Converged Infrastructure
  • Network: Cisco
  • Security: McAfee, Anchore, Splunk, Prisma Cloud
  • Container: Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher
  • Monitoring: SCOM, Splunk
  • Database: SQL, Oracle, PostGres, MongoDB
  • Operating Systems: RHEL, Windows
  • Enterprise Services: Active Directory, Group Policy

You will also have

A bachelor’s degree or higher in ICT or a related discipline or relevant professional experience and specialised training is highly desirable.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of this work this role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to be able to hold an NV-1 security clearance.

The successful candidate may need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements applicable to this role, and your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
