Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for several DevOps Engineers to come in and support our Federal Government Program to deliver an enterprise data platform that will become the backend to drive one of the most visited websites in Australia.  

You will work with a team of DevOps Engineers to rapidly build and deploy enhancements to an Enterprise DevOps Platform for a highly critical and visible Government organisation, while simultaneously supporting it. The development will take place in an iterative fashion using agile methodologies with inputs from multiple stakeholders.  Supporting this customer platform will include tuning system performance, installing and tuning enterprise wide software, and database design/implementation/support.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Solve interesting challenges in industry leading technologies and solutions
  • Promote and share knowledge on best practices through collaboration with the Leidos Software Factory and Engineering Matrix Community
  • Work with the Systems Engineering team designing, building, and supporting new Cloud Platform and infrastructure technologies and services, with a focus towards automation
  • Implement build and deploy workflow automation to support continuous integration and deployment
  • Provide support to DevOps Platform
  • Assist in the development of routine reporting and development of ad-hoc reports
  • Run, maintain and upgrade different Product environments (Development, Test, Production)
  • Provide security techniques and expertise to ensure the infrastructure and software services meet specific security standards.

Qualifications

About You and What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Red Hat Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Experience deploying and maintaining a DevSecOps platform and toolchain components
  • Containerised application deployment experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Software development lifecycle knowledge
  • Infrastructure as Code automation experience
  • Troubleshooting and Coordinating skills to resolve identified issues
  • Strong team focus and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Knowledge in Incident and Change Management process

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Ansible for automation
  • Kubernetes cluster administration experience
  • OpenShift experience
  • Experience with source code and artefact management
  • Experience in administrating Elasticsearch clusters
  • Demonstrated experience building Kibana visualizations and dashboards
  • Postgres Database experience or the desire to multiskill into Postgres will be a bonus
  • NiFi experience will be a bonus
  • Strong stakeholder management skills

Due to the nature of the work this role will require applicants to be Australian Citizens to be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
