Job Description

Your New Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer in a C4ISR program, you are responsible for leading system design using MBSE processes and guiding systems, software and ILS engineers to design, build and deliver an enterprise data integration and discovery platform.  You work as part of an established cross functional project team delivering value to our Defence customer.

You will also contribute your experience to other projects and new business opportunities.

This systems engineering role leverages your knowledge of the Defence C4ISR environment and involves leading the technical design, establishing and maintaining baselines and contributing to formal and informal engineering reviews.  You use your experience to ensure pragmatic solutions are achieved for complex interface definition problems, performance trade-offs and sustainability challenges.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

As a senior engineer you have a Bachelor degree or higher in engineering together with substantial relevant professional experience and specialised training.  You preferably have CPEng accreditation or equivalent.

You have a background in Engineering and experience on software-centric mission systems or C4ISR programs. You therefore have substantial experience with Defence industry, or directly with the ADO, together with a sound understanding of ASDEFCON, systems and software engineering and excellent stakeholder management skills. You thrive in cross functional project teams and have a collaborative, consultative approach.

Coupled with your education you have: 

  • Over 10 years professional experience working in a senior role with engineering responsibility on large scale, complex, software-centric programs
  • Experience working within Defence Technical Regulation frameworks
  • Experience working in a System Integrator organisation
  • Experience of systems and software engineering, enterprise architecture and interface protocols
  • Proven ability to resolve complex technical problems with strong conceptual and analytical skills

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to hold a NV-1 Australian Government security clearance.
