Job Description

Your New Role

Leidos Australia is looking for a Microsoft Office 365 Engineer to join our talented team based in Canberra. You'll work closely with the customer to design, implement and support cloud services.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and professional experience as an experienced Microsoft Office 365 Engineer with strong knowledge and systems engineering skills.

Activities in your role may include:

  • Eliciting, understanding, and designing against both business and technical requirements,
  • Developing and delivery of design documentation,
  • Working in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 environments comprising multiple tenants as well as other cloud platforms and services
  • Overseeing the implementation of Microsoft Azure tenant-level configuration, including but not limited to:
    • Azure Active Directory administration,
    • Conditional Access Policy,
    • Multi-Factor Authentication,
    • Identity and Access Management,
  • Overseeing the implementation of Microsoft Office 365 tenant-level configuration, including but not limited to:
    • M365 Groups
    • M365 Advanced Threat Protection
    • M365 Security and Compliance Policies
    • Service configuration for core M365 services including Teams, SPO, EXO and OneDrive
    • Sensitivity labels, data loss prevention policies, retention policies
  • Integrating 3rd party solutions with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 including SaaS backup solutions
  • Implementing cloud services aligned with an existing cloud operating model or framework
  • Reviewing cloud environment monitoring and administrative reports for both Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 to determine opportunities for environment enhancement
  • Coordinating agile life cycle activities and ensuring progress is being made with the objectives,
  • System release and deployment, and
  • Engaging effectively with the Systems Engineering team, management, and other teams across the Technical Systems areas.

  • Ability to develop/implement complex, evergreen cloud platform configuration
  • Ability to articulate conceptual and solution architectures and development approaches clearly and concisely in both writing and diagrammatically
  • Ability to coach / mentor Technology team members constructively and effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to think creatively to achieve outcomes

Qualifications

About You and What You Will Bring

As a seasoned Microsoft Office 365 engineer, you have strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 services and experience in the implementation and configuration of these services – including leading teams delivering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 services to customers.

You also have:

  • 7-10 years of experience working in a similar role within an engineering or project environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a team leader or team manager,
  • Good problem solving skills,
  • Good knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including software, systems and architecture, and systems engineering,
  • Demonstrated ability to produce consistently good results in a complex environment,
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills,
  • Willingness to document and improve software development processes
  • Experience delivering M365 projects utilising an agile delivery approach

  • Scrum Master experience

  • Agile Delivery Certification

Successful candidates will be required to be Australian Citizens and be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
