Job Description

Support and maintenance of a large enterprise environment spanning multiple locations. Both within Australia and internationally. Reporting to the storage and data protection manager the main responsibilities of this role will include, Administering the backup solution, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, and supporting storage hardware and software. Providing input into policies, procedures, and SOP’s relating to maintenance and management of the operational backup infrastructure and solution. Interact with users and technical subject matter experts to ensure delivery is fit for purpose.

Follow defined ITSM processes including Incident and Problem analysis and management with technical issues. Perform post Incident reviews and root cause analysis related to the technologies you’ll be supporting.

Perform the following functions as individual assignments or as part of a team:·   

  • Review the Storage &  Data Protection designs and make recommendations for upgrades, designs and implementations;
  • Implement and test Commvault upgrades;
  • Design implement and administer data migration activities;
  • Maintain data protection design and implementation documentation;
  • Implement organisational objectives for backup and restore improvement and compliance with industry standards;
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Source and analyse relevant subject matter documentation.
  • Contribute to IT Support process and policy development.
  • Ensure adherence to processes, procedures and security requirements.
  • Ensure the IT Support products and services provided to Programs are of the highest quality and satisfy all regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, environment, safety, duty of care, and the quality management system.
  • Display behaviours that reflect the Company values.
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and that of others, follow any reasonable instruction given by the Company, and report any concern(s) which may give rise to danger, and/or any injury which may occur in the workplace.

Qualifications

Relevant certifications or Professional membership relating to CommVault Data protection software.

Experience

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.  You will also have:

  • Substantial professional experience working in a role within an engineering or project environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • Substantial experience with the relevant technologies and domains is essential. Simpana CommVault
  • Proven experience administering, configuring and managing large scale data protection solutions.
  • Substantial knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including software, systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols
  • Substantial experience working in a large enterprise environment

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a current NV2 security clearance.
