About your new role

We currently have an opportunity for a Security Systems Engineer –Access Management to join the security team, based in Canberra with a key Government customer. You will provide technical support for the day to day operations of the Access Management programme, in addition to the continual improvement of environmental security through projects and BAU activities.

You will have the ability to work in a demanding environment with an enthusiastic sense of customer support, you will need to communicate and coordinate with users as well as other technology groups in a complex and highly governed environment. Your role will also involve:

  • Support access management operations across the environment
  • Enhancement of our current infrastructure, evaluating new technologies and making/implementing recommendations to improve security; 
  • Managing problems and requests in line with the ITIL framework by utilising customised in-house toolsets;
  • Project implementation and working with both the business IT teams & subject matter experts;
  • Developing and deploying solutions as part of projects or initiatives according to organisation standards;
  • Producing and maintaining technical system documentation.

 About you and what you'll bring 

 

  • Must hold current NV2 clearance or be prepared to undertake clearance process;
  • Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment;
  • Understanding of security from a strategic, high level to a technical, granular level;
  • Demonstrated experience with security technologies, such as Endpoint Protection, IdM, IaaM, APAM;
  • Understanding of Government security policy documents and frameworks;
  • Powershell and VB scripting desirable;
  • Windows Active Directory and other related technologies such as WINS, DHCP, DNS, GPO/AGPM etc.;
  • Unix/Linux knowledge (particularly LDAP/AD integration);
  • Outstanding ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels;
  • Able to facilitate the remediation of identified information security risks;
  • Ability to priorities effectively and act on own initiative;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Willing to be on-call and perform weekend work as required;
  • Desire to learn new technologies;
  • Some infrequent travel may be required to support data centre operations.
