Your New Role

Under the direction of the Information Management Lead the key responsibilities of the Information Management Specialist are to:

  • Assist in the planning, design, implement and running of the Information Management (IM) service for the program's Development Centre.
  • Undertake IM activities as part of the team
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of IM policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure IM and other documents stored in the Knowledge Base (KB) are maintained and current
  • Ensure alignment with Defence Enterprise Information Management (EIM)
  • Assist in ensuring, monitoring and reporting on compliance with Government policies, manuals and legislation
  • Provide advice on IM matters and act as an SME to developers, users and stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of deployable data loads
  • Assist in annual audits and running monthly spot check audits in line with the IM audit schedule
  • Process Service Requests when required and assist in the maintenance of the IM component of the risk register
  • Assist the IM Lead in developing and maintaining relationships with Government IM working groups
  • Determine the impact of changes and give advice on performance and compliance issues resulting from system changes or changes to policy or legislation
  • Assist with the Change Advisory Board (CAB) when required.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

A degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology Information Management or Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with relevant Information Management experience or specialized training.

Mandatory

  • The ability to achieve and maintain an NV1 level clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of, Information Management, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Governance or Information Security with focus on complying with standards and legislation
  • Experience in developing and maintain Customer Relationships
  • Experience in dealing with all levels of an organisation and tailoring information (reports or presentation) to suite the precipitants.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining Policies, procedures and working Instructions
  • Experience in maintaining cyclic work schedules (such as audit or risk schedules) 
  • Experience in the interpretation of business and customer requirements or proposed changes and identifying the possible impacts to service delivery.

Desirable

  • Experience with ITIL (V3 or 4) with a good understanding of Change Control, Service Requests, Knowledge Base, Incident and problem Management
  • Strong focus on customer relationships, customer service and outcome with a practical and pragmatic approach to identifying and meeting requirements
  • Exposure to JIRA and Confluence.
