Job Description

Your New Role

The role is complex and challenging, your expertise in Configuration Management and Change Management will be essential to establish and sustain the Mission System application. The new operational service will require your leadership to develop and embed sustainable Configuration, Change and Release Management practices with a focus on mitigating risk and impact to services. General duties will include.

Configuration Management

  • Deliver all change management services including Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, and Configuration Audit functions
  • Develop, deliver and update a Configuration Management Plan. Including maintenance of a schedule of known change management activities, projecting work effort on a rolling 12 month schedule
  • Identification, collection and monitoring of configuration items in a service operations, software development and engineering context
  • Identify, document and manage any changes to the functional and product baseline
  • Automation for collection and verification of Configuration Items.

Change and Release Management

  • Change Management in accordance with policies, processes and procedures
  • Ensure, monitor and report on compliance with Change Control procedures
  • Maintain accuracy of software change requests logging for recording and managing change requests
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Government Change Control groups.

Software Licence Management and Maintenance of System Records

  • Manage the distribution of Software licences for all Mission System Software Products
  • Maintain official Technical Data List and ensure accuracy and alignment to the Technical Data and Software Rights Schedule.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also have:

Mandatory

  • Experience and certification in ITIL Service Management with a strong focus of Configuration Management and change control
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly regarding positive relationship building and communicating effectively through both verbal and written communications
  • Experience in developing and maintaining policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Strong experience in managing compliance with contractual obligations, policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing high performance outcomes through a managed service provider contract
  • Excellent time management, staff coordination and logistics skills
  • Demonstrable experience with Configuration Management Systems (Aras Innovator advantageous).

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in establishing Configuration, Change and Release Management of a new service in a newly formed team
  • Demonstrated experience providing highly organised coordination of resources and data
  • Working knowledge of AS ISO 10007 Guidelines for Configuration Management.
