Our Sourcing and Commercial Management (SCM) Team are seeking an enthusiastic team member to learn about the world of Sourcing and Commercial Management. 

This is the ideal role for someone who has completed a degree in Law, who has an interest in a Commercial Management career. Alternatively, you might have experience in Contract admin or Procurement and be seeking to work in a more complex Federal Government or Defence environment. 

The Sourcing and Commercial Management Officer will be trained and mentored to support contract management functions and processes. This will include supported contract negotiation on ad hoc matters, contract administration, procurement activities, delivery of program deliverables and significant stakeholder engagement.

You will be trained to manage the following tasks;

  • Evaluate contract, subcontract and project performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Supported negotiation and coordination of additions, deletions, or modifications to contracts, subcontracts or project deliverables.
  • Monitor contract or subcontract health and commercial performance against contracted obligations.
  • Lead end to end procurement and payment activities for the provider portfolio.
  • Manage all contracts administration and regular commercial business rhythms (including reporting requirements).
  • Assist in the development and refinement of contract or subcontract policies and procedures.

Qualifications

About You and What You Will Bring 

Ideally you have an undergraduate degree in Law or Finance and some practical experience in a corporate environment. You might alternatively have experience in Contract administration or procurement and an interest in undertaking certificates in that area. 

More importantly, you have: 

  • The ability to work autonomously as well as contribute in a team and professional environment
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skill
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills with attention to details
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • A high level of initiative and self-motivation

Additional Information

Applicants will need to hold a current Baseline Security Clearance.
