Your New Role 

As the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) for Australia, you will be responsible for representing Corporate Information Security (CIS) interests within the APAC region, working with internal or external stakeholders to drive improvements in secure business operations.

Your role will involve developing and maturing the business security culture and the roll out security frameworks from the global headquarters, providing relevant contextualization for the Australian region. The BISO will lead the proactive management of risks and lead the Security Incident Response team in complex investigations. 

An experienced people manager, the BISO will lead a small Cyber security team and will focus on the expansion of the team’s capability, by providing relevant direction, leadership and coaching.

Opportunities to deliver impact in this role include: 

• Working closely with Group BISOs to ensure alignment of corporate security objectives and priorities with AU/Asian Pacific Regional needs;
• Provide senior leadership to Leidos Australia for the implementation and maturity of information security culture, policy, procedures, and standards; 
• Proactively identify information security deficiencies or opportunities for improvement to better enable business security; 
• Facilitating and directing support for growth initiatives including marketing engagements, proposals and short term program support in all areas of cyber defense; 
• Provision of thought leadership in the area of corporate information security; 
• Building the capability of the local Information Security team. 

About you and what you'll bring 

You are a seasoned leader with 15 + years’ experience in Information Security and demonstrated experience operating at a leadership level. You excel in influencing stakeholders at the Executive level in order to achieve Corporate Information Security outcomes. You are comfortable presenting to varied audiences as a Subject Matter Expert on Information Security and can demonstrate strong industry engagement. Strong leadership skills including mentoring, coaching and workforce development are essential. 

• Expert in Cyber or Business Information Security
• Degree in Cyber or a related field
• Deep technical knowledge of Cyber Security
• Strong knowledge or industry trends, risks and matters across public and private sector domains
• Good understanding of security best practices including ASD CSF, ASD DSM/ISM, Essential 8, ISO 27001
