We have an opportunity available for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Enterprise IT team, based in Kingston, ACT. We're seeking an Engineer with experience in one or more of the following common technologies: server operating systems, virtualization, wired and/or wireless networking. You'll work in a busy, corporate environment and work with stakeholders at all levels of the business. 

A typical day may see you:

• Carry out systems engineering assignments requiring familiarity and expertise with a broad field of engineering and technical knowledge;
• Assist with functional analysis to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications;
• Prepare for and participate in engineering peer reviews of solutions and proposals;
• Assist with the planning, conduct and coordination of system engineering activities for designated work packages and projects;
• Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects;
• Possess a good understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field.
• Ability to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects;
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of challenging problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives;
• Familiarity with Change Control and Configuration Management practices. 

We're looking for someone with a proactive approach and a can do attitude who is comfortable to put their own ideas forward. Technical experience in the following would be highly valued: 

• Virtualisation technologies (such as VMware or Hyper-V);
• Active Directory;
• Exchange;
• Server infrastructure and support of server infrastructure across a majority the major server vendors;
• Networking infrastructure (Cisco L2/L3 routing and switching or Aruba wireless);
• Familiarity with Skype;
• Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
