Leidos Australia is the largest commercial supplier of intelligence services to the Australian Government and provides a number of critical systems integration projects to the Department of Defence. We also deliver service management, including service desk, for the Australian Tax Office, supporting 25,000 ATO end users.

The Group Accounting Manager is a key member of the Australian accounting leadership team the role is twofold -leadership of the key elements of group accounting coupled with in-depth knowledge of Project Accounting functions for the Australian Leidos organisation.  You would be responsible for the following areas:

• Interfacing with Corporate Controller’s office and liaison with relevant U.S. Finance stakeholders
• Partnering with the Australian business for accounting and taxation matters including internal and external financial and tax audit advice and co-ordination.
• Expert in U.S. GAAP (books maintained in U.S. GAAP) and Australian GAAP
• Project Accounting – including project set up, maintenance & reporting and cost allocation
• General Accounting - account reconciliation direct & peer reviews, trial balance template completion, balance reviews
• Actively seek and act on opportunities for continuous improvement by reviewing and analysing complex processes to reduce cycle time, improve productivity and reduce overall costs
• Implementation of new financial systems
• Ensure organisational policies, procedures and practices are implemented and complied with and are relevant for local requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline (i.e. accounting / finance) from a recognised institution CPA or CA qualification essential

• significant demonstrated experience in a similar role and industry is essential
• Prior experience with multinational U.S. corporations and/ or large public companies is strongly preferable
• Prior experience with project accounting is strongly preferable
