Our Sourcing and Commercial Management (SCM) Team require an experienced Subcontract Manager to support our Centralised Processing (CP) IT Services subcontractor portfolio with related commercial and contract management support. This is in support of a large and complex prime contract with the Department of Defence.

The Subcontract Manager will have ownership of the CP subcontract management function and processes, both as an individual contributor as well as co-ordinating and directing the Senior Contract Administrators in the CP SCM team and Shared Services team.

This will include subcontract negotiation on ad hoc matters, contract administration, procurement activities and significant stakeholder engagement.

"A Day in the Life" will see you;

  • Evaluate subcontract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.
  • Monitor subcontract health and commercial performance against contracted obligations.
  • Lead end to end procurement and payment activities for CP subcontractor and provider portfolio.
  • Manage and lead all contracts administration and regular commercial business rhythms (including reporting requirements).
  • Assist in the development and refinement of subcontract policies and procedures.
  • Mentor Senior Contract Administrators on professional, contractual and commercial outcomes.
  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations;
  • Continuously improve methods of contracting in order to reduce or mitigate program risk, increase cash flow and increase program profitability.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contractual and non-contractual commercial agreements executed by the Company.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management and upkeep of the CP related commercial agreements including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Technical Assistant Agreements, and Consultancy Agreements in accordance the company’s processes and procedures.
  • Develop and negotiate Subcontract Agreements and Master Subcontract Agreements with new vendors, in support of Projects and Operations requirements, and in accordance with prime contract flow-down requirements.

Qualifications

About You and What You Will Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.  You will also have:

  • Minimum two year professional relevant working experience in a similar role (preferably in similar industry)
  • Demonstrated experience with Service Level and Performance Management
  • Outsanding skakeholder management skills
  • Ability to collaborate well across teams

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and to hold a current Baseline Clearance.
