About Your New Role

This role sits in a small close knit team that works closely with our client. Our team has a diverse mix of skills and cross training is a strategy, so flexibility will be required. 

Your role as a System Support Engineer will include:

  • Installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining computer systems, operating systems and services along with provision troubleshooting in AWS, VMWare and Linux environments
  • Supporting the installation, configuration and upgrade of software tools including virtualization and application discovery tool-sets, and commercial user tools
  • Setting up administrator and user accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
  • Providing technical solutions on a wide range of complex IT related problems, and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Solutions should be innovative, thorough, complete and consistent with program objectives.

Qualifications

About You

Working for Leidos, you will be required to work as part of a team but have the maturity to work autonomously. Your strong communication, interpersonal and technical skills will be key to establishing yourself with the customer and team.

Ideally you will have a strong working knowledge of the following technologies:

  • A good working knowledge of Linux - various including RHEL Ubuntu and Kubernetes  (Python scripting highly regarded)
  • A good working knowledge of VMware technology supporting the installation, configuration and upgrade of software tools including virtualization and application discovery tool-sets, and commercial user tools
  • A very good working knowledge of VMware 6.7 technology stack including: vSAN, vRA, vROPS, vSphere, vCenter, NSX, veem (NSX an advantage)
  • A good working knowledge of Window technology include development / implementation of SCCM, Exchange, AD, GPO,  Win Server 2012/2016, SQL, Win 10 desktop in a VMWare environment, Horizon.

Highly regarded if you had exposure to the following:

  • Tanium
  • AWS     
  • Splunk administration
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or other ITSM tool (Administration experience in ServiceNow would be highly regarded)
  • Security Operations Centre experience (highly regarded)
