Job Description

Your new role

The Solution Architect, Strategy Consultant works within one of Leidos’ largest programs of work to drive new business within a highly complex ICT environment. This role will work closely with the Director of IT Services and be a key stakeholder in client engagements. You will provide consulting services to the customer, partnering with them to identify and define opportunities for increased service offerings in the ICT contract.

The role will include the design and definition of new and/or existing technology solutions to meet Defence customer requirements within the Centralised Processing (CP) environment.

The Architect shall define system environments, specifications, integrations and coordinate the design of technology solutions in line with CP patterns and to support the road maps defined by the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). You will define proposals of work, work estimates and quotes, so experience in high quality writing and solution design is imperative.

In a typical day, you will:

  • Offer consulting services to the defence customer to help them define their needs and opportunities
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders across Leidos including Functional Leaders in Architecture, Engineering and Proposal Management to deliver high quality solutions
  • Review, interpret and respond to customer statement of requirements (SOR) to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current and future CP technology
  • Contribute to basis of estimates (BOE) and bills of materials (BOM) for proposals
  • Identify, analyse and mitigate project assumptions, risks, dependencies and deficiencies
  • Design and define system architectures and produce detailed level designs (DLDs) for new or existing systems
  • Lead technical requirements gathering, design, roles and responsibilities, and other system-related workshops
  • Co-ordinate and manage design compliance and governance activities with projects to ensure successful business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain models of current and future architectures within defined solutions
  • Present business cases for IT solutions, considering cost, infrastructure, licenses, development and support.

Qualifications

About you and what you'll bring

You have demonstrated experience delivering ICT solution proposals, business cases and/or supporting bids for internal and external stakeholders.

For this role you will need to have broad and deep knowledge with a range of technologies including end user computing, applications, databases, virtualisation, infrastructure, HA and DR solutions. Experienced with cloud solutions, specifically Platform as a Service would be highly desirable.
