Job Description

Your new role 

As one of our systems Engineers you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and professional experience as a Systems Engineer within a software development and engineering program. We are supporting the environment for our defence client and this role will allow you to broaden your skill set within the engineering life-cycle whilst working in an agile VS waterfall environment.  

As the ideal candidate, you would have previous experience working within a project environment. Ideally, you will have an NV1 clearance.

Required skills and abilities which may include, but are not limited to :

  • Participate in systems engineering lifecycle planning activities
  • Participates in Requirements Development activities
  • Participates in Preliminary and Critical design reviews
  • Participates in the sustainment of existing/new design documentation
  • Liaison with Business Administrators to elicit and clarify end user requirements
  • Participates in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to support S/W and Systems design activities

Maintains trace ability between requirements specifications and design documentation and advantage would be experience within an agile environment / within a SharePoint development environment. Development and documentation of systems design and development processes to support continual process improvement activities will be part of the role

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the business’s objectives. 

You will also have:

  • Several years of experience working in a similar role within an engineering or project environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • First rate problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including software, systems and interface protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality outcomes within a complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering outcomes on time, and to a high standard of focus.
  • Willingness to document and improve engineering processes 

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and ideally have a current Baseline security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
