Job Description

Your new role

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and professional experience as a System Architect in a multidisciplinary environment including and understanding of SharePoint infrastructure within a systems engineering lifecycle.

As the ideal candidate, you would have previous experience working within a project environment. You will ideally have an NV2 clearance, however we will consider exceptional candidates with an NV1 

Required skills and abilities and engineering and knowledge, which may include:

  • Provide detailed architecture analysis, design, and direction on development activities.
  • Provide leadership in liaising with customer representatives to derive functional and non-functional requirements, related to technical delivery of projects.
  • Provide leadership in terms of managing technology obsolescence and developing credible technology roadmap and migration strategies.
  • Assist in the creation of prototypes, presentations, supporting design collateral.
  • Provide documentation on all architecture designs, decisions and best practice approaches to architecture design implementation based on communication with project teams.
  • Design and development of enterprise applications on the Microsoft platform – SharePoint / .NET specifically.
  • Ability to work within a disciplined systems engineering lifecycle and demonstrate requirements compliance at Preliminary and Critical Design reviews.
  • Provide leadership in terms of mentoring staff within the Service Design team.

About you and what you will bring:

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the business’s
objectives.  You will also have:

  • Several years of experience working in a similar role within an engineering or project environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • First rate problem solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills  - and able to clearly and simply articulate design rationale.
  • Good knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including software, systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce consistent results within a complex environment.
  • Excellant knowledge and application of a broad range of skills including software, systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver software products on time, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Willingness to document and improve Design and systems engineering processes. 
  • Will have experience of the Sharepoint family (2010/2016/2019), .NET and Java development.
