Job Description

Your New Role

The primary focus of this role will be to perform technical planning, system build and integration and verification and validation of new and existing capabilities for Defence’s enterprise information systems.

Working in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team with mixed skillsets, you will be leading projects from a technical perspective, with a focus on Redhat/Solaris project implementation and integration activities.

You will tackle challenging, unique situations every day and work with other functions and employees within Leidos and its partners as well as our Defence customers. You will be a subject matter expert and advocate to fellow team members on making reliable technical decisions around supporting and deploying large-scale services and engineering complex systems that run some of our customer’s business critical systems.

The successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in integrating multi technology platforms, solid communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale in a unique environment.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

A true Red Hat Engineer, you have experience in a complex defence environment. You have comprehensive knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris. Knowledge of other Unix Operating systems, Free-IPA, Red Hat Satellite and other Unix based infrastructure management tools strongly desired. More importantly you are a team player and thrive in a complex environment learning new technologies and coaching your peers.  

  • Knowledge of any of the following technical disciplines is highly valued: McAfee Security Suite, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft System Centre, Microsoft Windows Server, Citrix XenApp, VMware vSphere, NetApp storage, Cisco UCS.

  • Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud-based infrastructure.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and have a current NV-1 security clearance, with eligibility to obtain NV-2.
