Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Server / Infrastructure Administrator with great technical and communication skills to support our Data Centre infrastructure. You will be providing level 2/3 support on Enterprise infrastructure and have a strong knowledge of security practices for a government customer.

  • Perform activities required for hardware & infrastructure changes and maintenance 
  • Manage maintenance schedules for hardware and infrastructure
  • Manage hardware and infrastructure related problems to resolution
  • Installing, updating & maintaining system wide software
  • Allocate and manage mass storage space
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Utilise enterprise-wide monitoring platforms
  • Identify problems in the infrastructure environment and develop action plans 

Please be aware that this role will require some on-call/weekend work as part of a roster. 

The successful candidate should be able to work in a demanding environment with an enthusiastic sense of customer support. They should also be level-headed, remain calm in crisis situations and coordinate/communicate with other technology groups in a complex and highly governed environment. 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience administering a multi-domain/Active Directory user environment over a wide area TCP/IP network
  • Networking, Storage and Backup experience
  • Windows Active Directory and other related technologies such as DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware suite

Desirable

  • CCNA (Data Centre or Routing and Switching), VCP and MCSA certifications
  • Solid understanding of modern server hardware;  particularly NetApp HCI & Cisco UCS
  • Experience with Storage and Backup; particularly, EMC & NetApp solutions
  • Experience with Citrix VDI deployments and the integration with McAfee products
  • Experience in bash scripting 
  • Experience working in a Federal Government Enterprise ICT support role
  • ITIL Foundation v3 certified
  • Experience in creating knowledge articles and work instructions

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be ellegible to gain a Baseline Security Clearance
