Your new role

The CBRN Specialist will work in a team of Mechanical/ Chemcial/Electrical Engineers solving complex problems for Defence. Be part of a ground breaking project that is one of a kind in Leidos Australia supporting the Defence force. It is a high profile, challenging and interesting project with an enthusiastic highly credible team.  This role will see you participate in development of decontamination solutions, and then the demonstration of those solutions to the customer, as well as providing CBRN operational advise to the project team in order to allow performance and ILS requirements  validation, manual and training material creation. 

Qualifications

About you and what you will bring

You will be an experienced CBRN Operator that has the ability to mentor and work within acquisition and sustainment project teams.  

Reporting to the Product Lead within the engineering team, you will work hand in hand with systems and ILS engineers providing operational expertise around the CBRN products. We are looking to create an environment where everyone can excel and be set up for success and this role is integral to the expertise we are looking for.

Coupled with your qualifications and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach and have a solid understanding of personal protection equipment, hazardous materials detection equipment, and decontamination systems within a military environment.

You will also :

  • Support to technical staff in assessing the performance of equipment associated with CBRN detection, personnel protection and decontamination systems.
  • Work with vendors and customer specialists to allow a common understanding of requirements, standards and equipment capability of CBRN related products.
  • Provide advice on equipment and system testing / demonstration activities, to allow equipment acceptance by the customer.
  • Preparation of technical reports to communicate key CBRN analyses (requirements compliance, standards compliance and equivalence, results from in-house trials, etc).
