Your new role

As the Regional Financial Controller of Leidos Australia you will be managing a team of 11 supporting the business with everything relating to Financial Control.  The role is essential to the businesses’ growth within the Asia Pac region. Previous experience within a multinational environment would be essential to the success of this position. As would be your ability to build and maintain effective business partnering, relationships locally as well as internationally .You will excel in challenging processes, coaching others in the nuances accounting, adding value within a complex environment.

As an accomplished Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Providing strong management and leadership to your finance team which will include the reporting, internal controls, accounts payable, timesheet administration, payroll and taxation.
  • Partnering with the Australian business for accounting and taxation matters including internal and external financial and tax audit advice and co-ordination.
  • Statutory reporting
  • Internal reporting and Internal Control Evaluation (SOX)
  • General Accounting  - account reconciliation peer reviews, trial balance template completion, balance reviews
  • Ensure organisational policies, procedures and practices are implemented and complied with and are relevant for local requirements.
  • Support ongoing improvements to streamline processes

About you and what you’ll bring

Your relationship skills will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of outcomes for both your immediate team and the project finance teams. To be set up for success in this role, you will ideally have similar experience from a multinational or a complex organisation.

You excel in the art of juggling, time management, people management and relationship development.  With this you will easily pivot between the 'big picture' and the finer details. Self -driven in execution and commercial outcomes, you excel in partnering with the business and providing a quality service to the organisation.

You will also have:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with previous experience in overseeing, financial processes and compiling financial and taxation requirements in accordance with USGAAP, local international Financial Reporting Standards(IFRIS) SOX and taxation regulations.
  • A degree in accounting or commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications
  • An enthusiasm for change and working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to influence peers and management and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • A curious nature that will challenge current thinking and processes to enhance business performance
