Job Description

We an opportunities to join a small close knit team that works closely with our client. Our team has a diverse mix of skills and cross training is a strategy, so flexibility will be required. This is also a newly formed team and your input into the phase in activity and creation of process and procedures for the day to day operations will be critical.

About your new role
Your role as a Systems Support Engineer will include:
•  Installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining computer systems, operating systems and services along with provision troubleshooting in Windows and Linux environments
•  Supporting the installation, configuration and upgrade of software tools including virtualization and application discovery tool-sets, and commercial user tools
•  Maintaining a good general knowledge of the global threat environment and proactively assess risk and response strategies to potential emerging threats, and be able to dynamically develop and deploy threat mitigation solutions and provide ongoing assessment of their effectiveness
•  Setting up administrator and user accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
•  Providing technical solutions on a wide range of complex IT related problems, and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Solutions should be innovative, thorough, complete and consistent with program objectives.

About You
Working for Leidos, you will be required to work as part of a team but have the maturity to work autonomously. Your strong communication, interpersonal and technical skills will be key to establishing yourself with the customer and team.

Ideally you will have a strong working knowledge of the following technologies:
• VMware technology stack (vSAN, vRA, vROPS, vSphere, vCenter, NSX, veem)
• Windows workstation and Server Operating Systems (PowerShell scripting highly regarded)
• Good understanding of networking and firewall configuration
• RHEL Linux (Python scripting highly regarded)
• Splunk administration
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow or other ITSM tool (Administration experience in Service Now would be highly regarded)
• Security Operations Centre experience (highly regarded)
• AWS experience

  • ServiceNow experiance in use and or administration is an advantage 


Due to the nature of the role we require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a current NV1 security clearance.

Qualifications

ITIL Foundations is an advantage
