Your new role

JP2030 as an evolutionary project has delivered a cohesive and integrated Joint Command Support Environment (JCSE) for the Australian Defence Force operations. This is a highly rewarding program, providing exposure to unique and engaging contexts. 

Team Lead under Service Design, your team will be responsible for designing the fixes or solutions that are required within the JCSE. You will balance both people management responsibilities including day to day work flow management in addition to providing technical advice to your staff on solution design. You work with the other Team Leaders to understand priorities and dependencies across the end to end lifecycle, from design to transition to operations. Leading a team of staff in the early phases of their careers, you will provide mentoring and coaching to further develop their technical and professional capability as well as improving their understanding of the Agile methodology. 

About you and what you'll bring

You have a solid technical understanding of System Engineering design process and demonstrated experience in Software Engineering. You are diplomatic and take a mature approach to working in a confidential environment. You have a passion for people management, are pragmatic and are driven to create an enjoyable work environment within your peers and staff. Highly valued experience includes: 

• Software Engineering experience in Defence on a restricted network and an active NV1 or NV2 is a must; 
• A variety of languages will be advantageous including C#, C++, Java, .net; 
• SharePoint experience; 
• Agile methodology; 
• A varied background in Engineering with an understanding of Operations, Testing and Design.
