Your New Role

Join our internal CTO team to lead IT Service Continuity (ITSC) activities for a defence customer. Your role will involve being the process owner for ITSC and Disaster Recovery and will involve liaising with a broad range of stakeholders, including the client and a range of subcontract partners. With your Architecture or Engineering background, you will understand and provide guidance on the technologies that need to be implemented to ensure that these recovery time frames can be met. You will work closely with the Availability Manager to ensure risks are identified and minimised. 

Other accountabilities include: 

  • Own and maintain the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Process and Plan

  • Identify & prosecute opportunities for improvement to efficiency & effectiveness of the Service

  • Test the IT recovery plans on an agreed schedule

  • Provide leadership, and coordinate technical resources during DR or DR Tests

  • Plan and maintain the DR test schedule, and execute DR tests in accord with your published Test Plans, Run sheets and Procedures, forming and leading a Recovery team comprised of technical resources drawn from Leidos and partner service delivery personnel
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and deliver effective DR training to internal and client staff. Ensure that staff are aware of their exact duties and that all relevant information is readily available should a disaster occur

  • Produce regular reports, and chair relevant meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

You are a confident and experienced leader in ITSC Management or Disaster Recovery, with either an ICT Engineering or Solution Architecture background. You have experience working directly with a defence customer, providing consultation and advice to support the technical solution. Your technical background has given you broader skills and knowledge, encompassing major IT platforms and infrastructure, including Networks, Security, Storage, Compute, backup and restore technologies, VMware SRM, Database replication and recovery, Mainframe, IBM P-Series, cloud technologies. You have developed project management skills through your demonstrated experience managing large scale DR activities with multiple stakeholder groups. This is not a pure management role, 'hands on' technical experience will be essential. 

Qualifications

Tertiary studies in a related field valued, but not essential, along with professional memberships that might include ITIL, Prince2, BCI or DRII memberships. 

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a current Baseline security clearance at a minumum, with ability to gain NV1.
