About the role 

Building on the success and growth of Leidos in the Australian Market, the Presales Architect is a critical position for building new opportunities with Government Agencies through innovation and ICT services that deliver business value.

Working in the Presales group representing the value of the Organisation’s ICT Services this role is the pivot between the Business Development Team and the Technical Directorate which represents the ICT Services of LEIDOS and is critical to define and deliver superior Technical Solutions to our Clients.

The role will work with the Architecture and Engineering Practice to design and lead solution selling utilising new services such as Cloud, XaaS, Analytics and Transformation Strategies utilising local and international case studies and talent to solve major business challenges for the customer base.  You will provide technical support for Business Development in the form of proposals, presentations and proof points, contributing to the design, estimation and promotion of LEIDOS services and solutions.

In addition to the normal range of tenders and customer responses, the role calls for an innovative thinker who can articulate the business value in key service offerings and construct strategic campaigns into targeted government agencies to develop new initiatives that will lead to growth and larger opportunities.

Commercial experience:

  • Defining business strategies and roadmaps and bringing the customer on the journey
  • ·Self-motivated and focused on delivering outcomes
  • Resilient with the ability to find innovative ways around against road blocks
  • Have broad experience and skillsets that span in all levels that make up a business solution and an appetite to pick up new technologies and concepts
  • Knowledge of partner solutions and the competitive market landscape
  • Ability to present to large audiences and facilitate workshops (such as design thinking)
  • A dynamic approach to design and Agile delivery experience

 Technical experience:

  • Design and delivery of Data Centre builds, migration or consolidations
  • Design and delivery of Cloud Hosting and Hybrid solutions utilising private and public cloud architectures 
  • Design and delivery of System Management, Service Catalogue projects/environments
  •  Infrastructure and Hardware Environments (focus on Virtualisation over Hardware) Solution design, estimation and governance for ‘as a service’ offerings (print, email, desktop)
  • Virtualisation design experience (desktops, application farms, database, network)
  • Storage, backup, DR designs
  • High availability concepts and designs for Data Centre, Virtualised Application Environments, Data and Networks
