Based in Melbourne, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Project/ Program Manager to support a significant and exciting Defence program.  As a seasoned professional you will be accountable for managing a large program which will enable and support operations of military and intelligence force elements for Australia’s Defence.

‘A day in the life’ will see you:

  • Manage the PMO function to ensure schedule, cost and quality are as planned, including the supervision of subcontractor performance.
  • Manage program risks collaboratively to ensure successful project execution
  • Lead and participate in collaborative customer meetings and reviews to ensure transparent and open communications with all stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage and lead the assigned team and participate in program planning sessions.
  •  Effectively manage the capability and capacity of the team to meet immediate and long-term staffing needs through strategic recruitment and comprehensive training and development plans.
  • Create and maintain project plans and other project documentation.
  • Ensure that contract deliverables meet customer expectations and contractual requirements, monitoring performance and taking the necessary actions to address variances.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract

Qualifications

About you and What you Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. 

 You will also have:

  • 7+ years Senior Project Management experience within federal government and Defence.
  • Proven experience in resolving operational and programmatic issues of a complex nature.
  •  Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels and to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in leading a successful Project Team.
