Your new role

We are seeking a talented leader with the passion to bring an enduring positive impression into our operational tools platform and refine how processes and policies define our enablement culture. We will be relying on your extensive industry experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, solution design and emerging technologies to be the catalyst that propels our client’s operational capability into a new era of automation.

In this role you will take on the responsibility for the service and operation management solutions in the Defence environment along with developing those solutions in alignment with the platform roadmap.  You will be responsible for collecting ideas and delivering innovation that make a difference to how our operations are executed, backlog grooming, interfacing across functional towers and working directly with our software vendors.

To be successful you will need strong leadership in shaping collaborative high performance teams with the agility to quickly develop high quality solutions to customer requests.  You will need to call on your extensive operations and infrastructure experience to develop industry leading solutions to problems that deliver efficient and high quality consistent outcomes.

About you and what you will bring

The immediate challenge awaiting you will be the delivery of a robust and mature Software Configuration Management (SCM) capability as foundation for the journey to a DevOps culture. Your previous DevOps experience will provide you with the insight and conviction to navigate the challenges that will lead our organisation to high velocity delivery.

Demonstrated experience in technical troubleshooting, application lifecycle management, systems automation and orchestration will be essential for this role. A practical understanding of LEAN, SCRUM and Kanban practices will be instrumental to mentoring your team through their journey.

Your experience in the following will allow you to hit the ground running:

  • ServiceNow platform and modules, scripting/coding including Javascript development for Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Pages, and Workflow
  • Network discovery with HP Discovery tools (uCMDB)
  • VMWare technologies including vRA/vRO
  • Web Services/Systems integration experience in SOAP, REST, JBDC (Mulesoft ESB)
  •  PowerIQ and dcTrack DCIM solutions
  • CMDB implementation and management

Qualifications

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen with a current NV2 or NV1 security clearance.
