Your new role

The purpose of this role is to support our team onsite at Laverton with general administration duties for a project called DLSS. Organisation, ability to follow actions through and ensure the documentation of the logistic stores will be an integral part of this position.

DLSS conducts work under the defence’s Directorate of Mobility, Engineering and Technical Services (DMETS), which resides under the Application Sustainment Branch – Melbourne (ASM-M) as part of the Chief Information Officer Group which sustains Defence Logistics Information Systems to support Defence Logistics.

Of these Logistics Information System applications, following are designated as “Visibility” applications:

  • Cargo Visibility System (CVS)
  • Defence Transaction Processor (DTP)
  • Improved Stock Management (ISM)
  • Lotus Notes Intermediate Demand System (LNIDS)

The DLSS team also maintain the hardware infrastructure supporting the above applications; firewall/ASA configuration, Access Point (AP) coverage within warehouses, and switch configuration.

Qualifications

About you and what you will bring

You will have a solid administration background and keen to support the virtual team that is located all over Australia – ideally have a customer focus and a can do attitude!

Your role will require you to maintain smooth operation of DLSS Administration and stores. Interacting daily with end users and Leidos staff, your duties will include:

  • Order, Purchase and Collect ISM items for delivery
  • CVS entry for delivery of ISM items
  • Dandenong Stores Manager (MEX Manager)
  • Collect ticket data and production of Monthly Report, including DEL4, DEL5 and other one off S&Q.
  • Manage Deliverable 4 & 5 invoices/PO
  • Manage and book DLSS travel (normally, but not limited to, site hardware maintenance staff)
  • Manage HW Maintenance Master Documents, Architecture Drawings, Network Schematic Drawings and Access and Security Configurations - officially release documents (reports, drawings, etc) and correspondence to customer.
  • PO and Invoice processing

In Addition having a 

  • Good level of skills and experience in administration and store keeping
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • High level of initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and ideally have a current Baseline or NV-1 security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
