Leggz School of Dance teaches over 500 dance students in our state-of-the-art 4500 square foot training facility. Our students have danced professionally all over the world for companies such as Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disney, Sea World, Orlando Magic, and Princess, Holland American and Disney Cruise Lines. Students frequently receive scholarships to study at The Florida Dance Festival, Alvin Ailey's, American Ballet Theatre and the Rockette's Summer Intensive courses. Many students have graduated as Dance Majors from the University of South Florida and Hofstra University.

We are seeking to hire a talented and experienced dance teacher for full-time position teaching all areas of dance at our studios. Qualified applicants should come with experience giving exceptional instruction to dancers between the ages of 18 months-18 years. Responsibilities

• Provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in two or more styles of dance
• The content includes in-depth knowledge and application of techniques or two or more dance styles (ballet, jazz, modern, theater, or tap), knowledge of dance terminology, and knowledge of basic choreography of movement sequences
• Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student's abilities and needs
• Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunity
• Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel
• Coordinates class field trips
• Prepares students for school presentations
• Establishes effective rapport with students, staff members and parents

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Dance experience.
• A love and passion for working with children.
• Experience working with children between the ages of 18 months-18 years preferred.
• Reliable transportation for traveling within locations in the Bay Area
• Excellent communication skills
• An eagerness to learn and grow!
• Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent
• Minimum of 1+ year of dance instruction experience.

Compensation: $25-40/hr. depending on individual experience, education and position requirements.

Each year students ages 3 through adults have the opportunity to perform in our Annual Recital at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando. The 2000 seat theatre is the home to many top performers and the Orlando Broadway series. The rehearsal and recital always run on time moving from number to number with only a few seconds between. Dismissal is in an orderly fashion taking no more than 15 minutes. Organization of the show is top priority at Leggz.
